Welcome to Japan class!
This year, Japan class are lucky enough to have two teachers to teach them all there is to know throughout Year 3.
Mrs Cornish is teaching Monday, Tuesday and some of Wednesday morning. Mrs Pallister is teaching most of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please see our timetable for which subjects will be taught when. We are so excited to be teaching our lovely Year 3 children and are looking forward to the new school year with them.
Key Information:
21.02.25
We made a video trailer using PowerPoint of well-known stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiger Who Came for Tea. We then watched each other's videos and gave feedback to evaluate the short films.
14.02.25
During E-Safety day, we learned about keeping safe online, including scamming. We looked at safe links and making sure we never click on a link we are unsure about and always tell a trusted adult first. We also talked about the information that is safe or unsafe to share online, such as personal details about ourselves. We wrote ‘top tips of how to keep safe online’ on a coin and then decorated our own E-safety money box to keep them all safe inside.
Our Year 3 Showcase Assembly was a huge success! The children showcased their learning in Science, History, Geography, PE, Maths and English.
28.01.25 - Computing
Today, the children took photographs to create their own video trailer of a well-known book. Well done Japan Class!
We made cake pops! For one of our Christmas crafts, we made Christmas pudding chocolate and orange flavoured cake pops to sell at the Christmas Fair. We are so excited for everyone to try them!
Work we are proud of!
Please see below some work we are proud of so far, right at the very start of Year 3! Well done Japan class!
Today, we had a very special artist visit our classroom to show us a specific art skill using oil pastels and mixed medium art...Mrs Cornish! As Mrs Cornish does not usually teach us on a Friday, we had two teachers today! What a treat! Mrs Cornish showed us how to layer different colours and blend these to form a background. We then drew our dreams and aspirations into different sized circles and glued these onto the background, adding a silhouette of a person and some thought bubbles to show us dreaming.
