Wow Year 1! We certainly have some budding chefs among us! All of this cooking is fantastic! We hope that it tasted as good as it looked!
Here are some of this weeks fantastic examples from the blog! There are so many more on the blog, so check out more amazing work there!
In English, we have been reading 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London' The children have been writing sentences, exclamations and questions as well as creating their own story board.
In Maths, Year 1 have been learning how to count numbers within 50. We have been finding one more and one less in a practical way. We even played bingo!
In Science, the children have been testing materials to see whether they are waterproof! In RE we have been learning about Jesus and his disciples
Some fantastic examples of work that has been posted onto our blog! You're all working so hard! I wish I could put them all on!
Here are yet more fantastic examples of home learning work. To see much, much more please log onto the blog!
We learnt about Tudor dress before designing and labelling our own outfit!
We have tried to use our learning from phonics to build words independently. We designed and labelled out own Tudor houses, which also included features that were traditional for that period of time!

In science we have been learning about materials and their properties. We have then used this knowledge when designing out Tudor houses and outfits!
Here are just some of this week's fabulous pieces of work from the blog (there are LOTS more on the blog)

Well done everyone! We couldn't upload everyones but the selection we have (and there's LOTS more on the blog) shows how hard you have all been working!
This week, we have lots of additional activities happening in school. Below is a list of what we are doing in school, on which days, so that you can join in where you can.
Monday - Christmas Party Day - We will be playing party games, having a mini disco, eating party food, making Christmas cards and calendars.
Tuesday - Good to Be Green Treat (Afternoon). We will be coming to school in our PJ's and slippers. In the afternoon we will be watching a Christmas movie and having some hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Thursday - Christmas Jumper/ Elf Day - Year 1 will be making star biscuits. You can find the recipe here: https://recipes.sainsburys.co.uk/recipes/baking/easy-biscuits
Friday - We have star of the term assembly! School closes at 1:30, so make sure you relax after that!
This week is enterprise week! Each class has a small budget and is to make some Christmas crafts to sell. This year, instead of a Christmas fayre, we have created a Christmas catalogue (see below). So that children at home can join in making something at home we have uploaded some Christmas Craft ideas into the folder above. You can still order from the catalogue! Just let us know :)
