My name is Mrs Godfrey and I am proud to be the teacher of the amazing individuals who make up Hollywood Class this year.

Science Week writing about a significant inventor - Nicola Tesla. What fantastic writing it is.

Looking back to the Spring Term and ahead to Summer.

We enjoyed learning about the past. There were some turbulent times in the first half of the 20th C. WW1 and WW2 so we entitled our topic - Fifty Furious Years. We learned about the past and took a trip to Eden Camp. We applied some new skills to our Design Technology unit and created some really effective WW1 trench dioramas. We read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and learned that in war, people can be cruel. However, we learned about a brave heroic pilot who died to save the people of Darlington when his plane went down and who now has a memorial on McMullen Road. Here are some of the images from our unit.

Maypole dancing challenged us all.

We had a Good To Be Green reward activity - everybody found something to play on.

Welcome back to our Spring Term.

In Hollywood this term our topic will be entitled - Fifty Furious Years.

In History, we will consider changes since the start of the 1900 s. We will use this theme to develop our ideas for Art and Design Technology, Music and Literature.

Our main English study book this term is: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

We are looking forward to starting our SATs Club and working hard to meet our learning challenges. There are many exciting adventures to be had this term and we are looking ahead to these.

In English, we are learning how to persuade. Being able to engage in a formal debate helps us to persuade others to listen to our ideas.

We will be in the Main Hall from 2pm on Friday. Come along and purchase our wonderful hand made Christmas crafts and have a go on our competition board - only £1 to win a voucher worth £20.
