This week we are finding out about how the 'Lunar New Year' is celebrated around the world and particular in China where it is called 'Chinese New Year'. This year is the 'Year of the Tiger'. The two PowerPoints below can be shared with your child to find out more. Please read and talk about them with your child.
Possible Activities:
- Draw a picture of a tiger.
- Look online for some examples of Chinese writing - your child can try copying some with a felt tip or paint
- Try a dragon dance (see video below) at home using a sheet or some fabric and adding a dragon head made from a box or paper.
- Find out what animal year your child and family members were born under and what that means for your personality.
