Year 5 - Rio

Hi everyone,

I'm Mrs Hetherington and I'm the class teacher for Rio de Janeiro class this   year. 

During Year 5 we will be learning about South America, Brazil and Rio de Janeiro as our Mini Topic. We will then move on to learning about the Industrial Revolution, followed by Invaders and Settlers and finishing with The Maya.

Year 5 sounds like lots of fun to me, I hope you agree!

 

Computer coding using Scratch!

We have been using Scratch to write our own computer codes. We created our own characters and musical bands!

Making a pop-up book

We have really enjoyed our Design and Technology project this half term, we have planned and made our own pop-up story books. We are all very proud of our finished products.

Science - Mixtures

We all enjoyed Christmas jumper day!

Showcase Assembly

Year 5 have enjoyed showcasing their autumn learning by presenting their work, along with demonstrations and challenges for their parents. They worked hard to create their own resources, pick their own lesson examples and create their own comments to say to parents as they visited their stalls.
