The Nest is our dedicated Nurture provision, here at Harrowgate Hill. The space is calm, welcoming and purposeful. It enables adults to work with children in a productive and structured way, delivering interventions which are tailored specifically to meet each child’s individual needs.
The purpose of The Nest is to engage children in bespoke, targeted learning where SEMH is a defined and/or diagnosed need; to offer children opportunities to re-visit early learning skills / social skills and also to promote and support their social and emotional development, through therapeutic interventions.
We believe that emotional literacy is the bedrock of access to learning and that children’s learning is most effective when they have a positive sense of emotional well-being, good self-esteem and a feeling of belonging to their school community. The Nest supports every aspect of this.
