The Maya civilization was a Mesoamerican civilization developed by the Maya peoples, and noted for its logosyllabic script—the most sophisticated and highly developed writing system in pre-Columbian Americas—as well as for its art, architecture, mathematics, calendar, and astronomical system.

Try researching the Mayan Civilization first, then have a go at the activities below...

This term our topic is Earth and Space.

We made a Orrery of the solar system

Our topic this term is Invaders and Settlers.

We have started this topic by looking at the Anglo Saxons.

We have been reading Beowulf in Literacy and most of our work is based on this novel.

Liz Million, who is a famous author and illustrator came in to help us open our imaginations. We learned how to draw some characters from Beowulf.

We created an Anglo Saxon necklace using paper.

This topic has also allowed us to explore how materials were made and dyed in the times of the Anglo Saxons. We used natural products such as beetroot, avacado and onions to dye our wool. We then tried to hand weave.
