I really miss seeing everyone's faces every day and I hope you're all staying safe and happy during this school closure.

In Maths, Year 5 follow White Rose. For every day, there are set activity sheets available online along with the answer sheets. There's also a really easy video to follow along in case you're not sure.

This is the link that will take you to the page. I have put the activities underneath. Please get in contact if you are struggling or even if you would like to show case some of your work!

Have a look at this film fest document. There's 7 weeks on there!

Remember that it is still important to keep reading.... a book that you enjoy. Hopefully you have something to read at home, this could even be a newspaper, magazine or something online if you don't have access to many books.

Please try to read and complete a quiz on accelerated reader

Topic - Maya Civilization

The Maya civilization was a Mesoamerican civilization developed by the Maya peoples, and noted for its logosyllabic script—the most sophisticated and highly developed writing system in pre-Columbian Americas—as well as for its art, architecture, mathematics, calendar, and astronomical system.

Try researching the Mayan Civilization first, then have a go at the activities below...

This term our topic is Earth and Space.

We made a Orrery of the solar system

Our topic this term is Invaders and Settlers.

We have started this topic by looking at the Anglo Saxons.

We have been reading Beowulf in Literacy and most of our work is based on this novel.

Liz Million, who is a famous author and illustrator came in to help us open our imaginations. We learned how to draw some characters from Beowulf.

We created an Anglo Saxon necklace using paper.

This topic has also allowed us to explore how materials were made and dyed in the times of the Anglo Saxons. We used natural products such as beetroot, avacado and onions to dye our wool. We then tried to hand weave.
