Welcome to Dingoes Class!
Hello and welcome to the Dingoes! We are Miss Cairns and Mrs Fraser and we very excited to be spending the next year with our Year 2 class! In Year 2 the topics we will be exploring are Journeys, Africa and Scented Garden along with lots of other subject areas! We really can't wait to get this year started and have lots of fun along the way!
We are really enjoying our Summer term! Our topic is all about 'The Scented Garden' and we have even had a hedgehog visit us in our outdoor area!
Gardens- we have been out and about exploring garden areas on our school grounds.
Larry the hedgehog is looking for a new home!
Larry sent us a letter and we were very excited.
Science- we have been planting seeds and bulbs!
Using manipulatives- we are continuing to use manipulatives to deepen our understanding of topics!
Hinduism- we have been looking at objects and how they are linked to the religion we are exploring!
What a busy Spring Term we are having! The children are enjoying exploring our Africa topic, take a look at what we have been up to!
PE- Gymnastics We have been practising difference balances.
Music and Computing We have been making musical patterns using instruments and computers.
Maths- Shape and Measures
English- We have been building our writing stamina and some of us are beginning to edit our own work!
DT- We have started to explore and design our own vehicles, remember to send in materials so you can make yours!
PE- We have been travelling in different ways and balancing on one foot for an extended period. We have been applying our skills to an activity.

We have been learning all about harvest in Year 2. We created some freeze frames to represent the process of harvest...

Class Council
We were really proud of the children in Dingoes who tried out for 'Class Council'! The children demonstrated courage and determination when reading out their entries. Congratulations to Alex who was voted to be our rep this year! We are all sure you will do a great job.
What a great first week back! We have familiarised ourselves with our classroom this week and have really got to know each other. We have particularly enjoyed beginning our class novel together and exploring our new reading corner.
The children have spent the week finding all about Dingoes and we enjoyed having our snack time in the sunshine.
