SEND

Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Darlington’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs at Harrowgate Hill Primary School.

The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated in November 2021.

A child or young person has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or a disability which calls for special educational provision to be made that is additional to or different from that made generally for other children or young people of the same age.

If your child has special educational needs and / or a disability and you would like to know more about what we offer please contact our SENDCO;  Mrs C.A. Cornish - 01325 253300

The school follows a complaint procedure and this will be followed for any SEND complaints.

If you have a query or complaint regarding your child and their special educational need please initially talk to the class teacher/phase leader. This query will then be discussed and resolved or passed on to the SENDCO.

If you feel this issue has not been dealt with sufficiently or you still need further advice please follow the schools complaints policy which can be found in KEY INFORMATION -POLICIES - COMPLAINTS POLICY

The chart below details the SEND Provision at Harrowgate Hill Primary School.

Identification of a pupil's needs can be made through teacher assessments, class based observations or parental concerns shared with teacher and / or SENDCO.

Quality First Teaching and access to interventions will ensure that resources are matched to pupil need.

Individualised support may be sourced from external agencies.

Communication is a key element to our SEND provision and is maintained through regular opportunities to review SEND Support Plans and parental access to Edukey.
