Hello and welcome to the Kiwi classroom. Here we always aim to be the best we can be and strive to reach our full potential in everything that we do! We also understand that it is OK to make mistakes and that this is part of our learning journey. In class we enjoy lots of different things from exploring our love reading or make time each day to share our thoughts and good choices from that day.
We always have very exciting and interesting topics, which allow us to become explorers, authors, teachers, scientists, mathematicians and artists!
In our English lessons we cover a wide range of learning including reading, writing, spelling, phonics and grammar.
We change our text type every 3 to 4 weeks, so far this term we have looked at reports, letters and instructions. We are all working hard at becoming fantastic writers.
In our Maths lessons we try and make our lessons hands on and fun to engage our learning. We have investigated place value, addititon and subtraction and money so far this term. We are learning how to become independent mathematicians.
In Year 2 we have been discovering all about Trains this term. We visited the Shildon Railway musuem in September and that sparked our learning journey. We've discovered and learned about famous inventors such as George Stephenson and John McAdam. Learning about how important the North East has been in the history of transportation has been really interesting.
