Starting Year 1 in September

What do I need to bring to school?

• Please bring a bookbag/school bag to take letters and pictures home. 
• Your phonics folder with your reading books and reading record
• Homework book (handed in on Thursdays, sent home on Fridays)
• A water bottle with water
• Weather appropriate clothing - coats, hats, gloves, sun hats! Please leave umbrellas at home or with grown ups at the door. 
• A school friendly snack (fruit, dried fruit snack or cheese) 
• Please keep toys and valuables at home so they do not get lost or broken
   

What will my timetable look like? 

The children will have a day of fun lessons with lots of activities! We will share photos on our class dojo and class pages for you to see their learning. The children will have a morning break, a lunch break and an afternoon break. 

The children have maths, English and phonics every morning followed by foundation subjects in the afternoon such as Art, DT, Science, Geography, History, PE, computing, PSHE and music! On Friday afternoons the children will have a golden time slot and a whole school assembly to celebrate their hard work through star of the week!

Do I get milk in year 1? 

Please speak to the office about your child's eligibility for milk at snack times. If you would like milk, this can be arranged at the office.
