Chinese Dragons

Hello and welcome to the Chinese Dragons' Class Page. I am Miss Brown and I am the class teacher here in Chinese Dragons this year.

As we return in January 2022, we continue with our mini topic for the first week where we will be learning about Chinese New Year.

We also get to start our new topic, Unfortunate Events. You won't want to miss it!

Reminder - Our PE day is Thursday

Homework is handed out on Friday and due in on Thursday

Ask for your MyMaths login if you've lost it - you won't be able to do your maths homework without it.

Spelling tests are on Monday morning.

Science Day! We learnt about Maria Telkes who was best known for creating the first house built with a heating system that ran completely on solar energy. Her work in solar energy is so well known that she is sometimes called the Sun Queen. We made our own solar ovens to see how even a simple device can amplify heat from the sun.

Roman Mosaics - Chinese Dragons have worked hard to research, plan and design their own Roman Mosaics. Grout is messy stuff!

Summer Term - 2

It's almost the end of Year 4 but we still have LOADS to do!

Keep an eye out for our awesome Science Day experiments and Roman Mosaic making as well as Sports Day and Summer Fayre fun!

Presenting PowerPoints - We made our own PowerPoint presentations to share the learning we have done in Spring Term 1. This covered some of the unfortunate events we had been learning about.

Good to be green! - Those of us who remained green throughout Spring Term 1 received a bonus treat of making pizzas!

Science - This term our topic is SOUND so we have already carried out some investigations to help us think about how we hear things.

On Friday 19th November, the children in Chinese Dragons raised money for Children in Need by coming to school in their own clothes. We had a fantastic day!

In Science, we have been learning all about the water cycle. We carried out an experiment to show exactly how the water condenses and evaporates.
