Pantomime magic! We thoroughly enjoyed Alice in Wonderland - even the teachers were in hysterics!

Our first topic in Maths has been Place Value. We have used our manipulatives to develop our understanding of partitioning and then flexibly partitioning a number!

In Science, we thought carefully about how important food is for survival due to the energy it provides. We explored a variety of activities and the energy levels required and then the nutritional value of food.

In Maths, we have now moved onto Addition and Subtraction. Before we start the formal written method, we have been exploring the concept of adding and subtracting across 10's and 100's, remembering to exchange.

Our Topic for History this half-term has been Stone to Iron Age. To understand the concept of trading during the Iron Age, we played a game which focused on the bartering process and what Iron Age people needed to survive.

Show Racism the Red Card!

In D.T. this half term, we have been exploring the concept of 'Eating Seasonally' and what this means. Once we had an understanding, we designed, made and evaluated our seasonal tarts! First step: Tasting possible ingredients...

Our Finished Products!

Final Step: tasting so we can evaluate...

Children in Need!

Within our Forces and Magnets topic, we have explore the concept of friction and how friction increases or decreases depending on the smoothness of a surface.

In Geography, we completed our fieldwork within the school grounds, identifying rocks, marking on a map where we found them and trying to decipher whether the rock was igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary.

Over the last term, we have learnt to play the Ukulele. To demonstrate what we have learnt, we put on a short performance to Sri Lanka class!

In French, we have been learning French adjectives for colour, shape and size. We have completed matching activities and created our own Matisse inspired art pieces using specific shapes and colours!

At the start of Spring Term in Maths, we having been using our times tables knowledge to multiply 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number. We practised lots on our whiteboards to ensure we were confident with the strategy!
