Pangolins

Welcome to the Pangolins’ class page!

Summer

This term, we have been studying the Romans through our English and Topic. We have enjoyed exploring what it would be like to be in the Roman army and even dressed up as one!

As part of our Art, we designed and made our own mosaics (photos of our final product to follow!!)

We had the opportunity to take part in a yoga session!

Although our Spring Fayre did not go as planned, some of us took part in the hat parade.

Spring 2

We have been taking part in lots of lovely activities in Spring 2.

We enjoyed creating our extreme weather water colour paintings. We tried really hard to include the techniques we had been taught such as wash and sponging.

In Music, we created our own composition for a weather picture. We enjoyed trying to guess what weather was being represented.

Spring 1

This term we have been enjoying reading our English novel 'A Series of Unfortunate Events: A Bad Beginning' which is all about the unfortunate lives of the Baudelaire children and the villain Count Olaf. We have been completing lots of descriptive writing around this and also practising our reading comprehension skills.

Last half term in Topic, we looked at unfortunate events in history. We looked at events such as the plague, Titanic and World War I, and how these impacted on the world and the legacies they left behind. We also carried out our own historical enquiry and presented it to our peers:

This half term, we will be focussing more on natural disasters which we are all very excited to be exploring!

What an absolutely amazing morning we had taking part in the Escape Crow Castle event! We put our reading skills to the test to solve clues to beat the Crow queen. Everybody showed fantastic team working skills as you can see from the photos!

This term we also took part in French Day. We practised our French, played games and learnt about the artist Matisse.

Autumn

Autumn term has been a very busy term! This term we were able to welcome parents back to enjoy Harvest Festival. We worked super hard learning songs and even sign language. Despite only having 2 weeks to practice, we did amazingly and we were very proud of ourselves!

As well as Harvest Festival, our class have also been fortunate enough to receive a visit from an Ancient Greek visitor. We found her absolutely hilarious! She brought along some Greek artefacts for us to explore and some of us even got to dress up in them. After we explored the artefacts, she answered some of her questions about the Ancient Greeks. She was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot from her.

Have a look at some other things we have been up to (click to find out more!)...
