LITERACY

In Literacy this week we are going to be listening to the story of Jack Frost. You could read the story to your child (using the Jack Frost PP)or watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igsDNgU0ed4

We will be writing a wanted poster in order to find Jack Frost.

Download and print the ‘Wanted Poster’ Template for your child to use.

Write down some examples of simple sentences for your child to look at, for example;

He is cold.

He is big.

He is frosty.

Now

Can your child write their own sentences to describe Jack Frost?

Encourage your child to have a go at writing some sentences independently. If they struggle with this you can help them sound out each word. Ask them: What sounds can you hear in can? c – a- n.

Finished...

Can you practise writing your name?

Can you practise writing the tricky words: I, no, to, go, the?

If they need help writing, you could use a light coloured pencil or a highlighter and ask your child to trace over the top of the letters
